How much do you spend on your children's Christmas presents?
People in less affluent parts of the country spend more as a proportion of their income on Christmas.
That's according to an analysis by 大象传媒 5 Live's Wake Up To Money which matched official regional income figures with a Christmas spending forecast from the Centre For Retail Research.
Nationally, the UK regions with the lowest income - Wales, Yorkshire, The North East and Northern Ireland - all spend the most proportionally. By the same measure, the wealthiest areas - London, the South East, and the East of England - spend the least.
Separate figures from YouGov show wealthier people are cutting back on Christmas and plan to spend less on gifts this year, down 8% at 拢300, compared to 拢291 for lower earners, up 4%.
We asked parents in Kirkby, Merseyside where incomes are below the average, and those in Wilmslow, Cheshire where they're higher - how much they're spending on their children.
