Film Special with John Boyega, Garth Jennings & Miranda Richardson

John Boyega on Star Wars Episode XIII; Sing creator Garth Jennings on his extraordinary and unexpected career; and the inimitable Miranda Richardson talks about Stronger.

It's a stellar line-up for our penultimate podcast of 2017, which is a silver screen special.

The dapper John Boyega visits us ahead of the Star Wars Episode VIII premiere at London's Royal Albert Hall. He talks about coping with being separated from Daisy Ridley in this instalment, and the literal (not figurative) sparks that flew during stunts with Gwendoline Christie.

Titled The Last Jedi, this film was the last project Carrie Fisher filmed before her death. John remembers that she meant freedom to him: in both words and attitude. He also looks ahead to future projects, revealing a long-held desire to flex his bottom lip quiver on a romantic epic.

We catch up with the children's author, director, and Sing creator Garth Jennings. He talks about his extraordinary and unexpected career, from making a first music video for SL2, to casting Hollywood A-listers in his very first feature-length animation.

The wonderful, inimitable, Miranda Richardson joins us to talk about flying on mopeds, rumoured hobbies, and playing an untypical mother in a new film about Boston Marathon bombing survivor, Jeff Bauman.

And Chris Hewitt鈥檚 2017 Friday Film Club round-up celebrates soundtracks, from Guardians of the Galaxy, to Baby Driver, Call Me By Your Name, La La Land and more.
