Reading defender Paul McShane knows Christmas working is part of being a footballer.

The Royals squad will be travelling to Bristol on Christmas Day ahead of their match on Boxing Day.

"I haven't had a Christmas since I was 17!" McShane told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "You can't get carried away at Christmas as a player because it will definitely catch you out at some point.

"It's hard on Christmas Day when you are seeing everyone stuff their faces.

"You've got to be professional, we're lucky enough to be professional footballers, so the sacrifice is Christmas."
