Davidson: Time for heavy intellectual lifting
Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson is the Radio 4 Broadcasting House politician of the year. She told Paddy O'Connell that her party has gone from being referred to as a corpse when she took over in 2011 to now becoming a credible alternative to the SNP government.
She said that after six national elections and two referendums in that period, Scottish politicians, voters and journalists were "knackered". Ms Davidson added that with no elections expected for the next three years, there was a "huge opportunity" for the necessary "heavy, intellectual lifting" to become a "credible alternative government for Scotland".
The full interview will be on Radio 4's Broadcasting House on Christmas Eve at 9am.
