Reading FC: Gourlay adamant Stam's under no threat
Chief Executive Ron Gourlay has denied Stam's position as Reading manager is in danger.
Despite a poor run this season that sees them sit four points above the relegation zone, Gourlay was clear that Stam is the way forward for the club, and his job is under no threat.
"Not at all," Gourlay told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "I don't even want to discuss it.
"The owner has put his faith in myself and Jaap [Stam] to guide the team forward.
"It is a longer project, we want to make sure we get it right."
And Gourlay wanted to point out where he thinks the club are at the moment.
"We are in transition, and we've got to look at continuing to strengthen the team in the next couple of [transfer] windows, and push for the Premier League."
