The island that time forgot
A UNESCO World Heritage designation is usually something that can bring in a flood of restoration money, architectural preservation, and, inevitably, tourists. But proportionally the number of cultural heritage sites in Africa lags well behind Europe, Asia or North America. And even for the few places that have managed to gain recognition, attracting tourists is a difficult task. The 大象传媒's Kim Gittleson went to the only UNESCO site in the east African nation of Mozambique to find out more.
