Pop stars and Egyptian slave girls: the story behind 'bint nas'
The Arabic expression "bint nas" recently appeared in a tweet about American pop star Taylor Swift. "Bint nas" was orginally a term for Egyptian slave girls, but it came to refer to the most powerful people in the land. Egyptian writer Marwa Mamoon explores the story behind phrase.
