Will devaluing Angola's currency cause prices to rise?
Decades of dependence on revenues from exports of oil, which is priced in US dollars, has forced Angola to stop pegging its kwanza to the American currency, a move which will probably add to inflation.
Marcus Weimer, an independent analyst of sub-Saharan African economies, tells us Angolan consumers will see prices rise, especially for imported goods.
