Should mothers keep their babies with them in prison?
A mother鈥檚 prison sentence often means separating from her child. Some prisons allow women to keep their babies with them for a few months, allowing them to bond. Research shows that those mothers are less likely to reoffend after release. But what is life behind bars like for the infants who haven鈥檛 committed any crime? Irene Caselli visited the women鈥檚 prison in Chihuahua in northern Mexico, where children are allowed to stay with their mothers for up to four years.
