Government to face 'searching' Carillion questions
Former Education Secretary Nicky Morgan has told the Westminster Hour she expects ministers to face "searching questions" over the handling of construction firm Carillion. She said "companies will need to know that the taxpayer is not always going to step in" and suggested that the Treasury Committee, which she chairs, could quiz Government ministers over the issue. Carillion board members have made a final case to lenders to rescue the company which holds the contract for the HS2 rail line.
