It's a potentially contentious Memory Tape topic today, as Arwel Roberts in Anglesea shares his list of favourite cover versions (or those which do something different, well). The revisionists include The Staple Singers, Shinehead and Betty Chung.

Arwel says: "These are all cover versions, arguably better than the originals. I have been making compilation tapes since I can remember. I was born in 1980 and my first love was dance music: The Prodigy, acid house and techno. Since then, my musical horizons have expanded and now I try and listen to as much music as possible, from all around the globe.

I have always loved cover versions, to hear someone else's take on a classic song that everyone knows. These cover versions are all tracks that I have used on past mix tapes and have always been well received. I hope you enjoy them as well!"
