Rose and Joe live in a wee village in East Renfrewshire in Scotland. As soon as Joe first laid eyes on Rose, he knew this was the woman he was going to marry and told her that on their very first date. Rose took a little longer to come to the same conclusion, but Joe eventually talked her round and they got married in 2003. Just a few years later, Rose started to exhibit some of the symtoms of a deterioration of the vertebrae (Degenerative Disc Disease). One of her biggest frustrations is that she's a perfectionist regarding housework. She's found it hard to delegate to Joe without being too judgemental. She had a period of struggling to cope with her disability and isolating herself, but she's now part of a drama group and a ukelele group.
