The Reading defender Chris Gunter thinks performances will click into place soon.

Reading are currently winless in eight games in the league, but face Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday evening.

"Last season there were games where we had a little bit of luck," Gunter told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Ady Williams. "This year there have been games where performances...haven't been any different to last year.

"We need to improve our performances, but we're not a million miles away from putting in a run of performances...to pick up more points."

And Gunter says he is not blind to the poor position Reading are currently in in the Championship.

"We know where we are in the league...you win two games and we'd move up a lot of places.

"There's far too many points to play for in terms of thinking, 'This game's a must win'.

"I don't think we're anywhere near that yet."
