Rowing: Beaumont building for season ahead
British Rowing athlete Jack Beaumont knows the gruelling work now will pay off later.
During the early part of a season, many of the athletes work towards senior trials and trying to beat their teammates, rather than as a single unit.
鈥淭hroughout the whole year we鈥檙e a team,鈥 Beaumont told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire鈥檚 Tim Dellor. 鈥淲e鈥檙e a team, we train as a team, we support each other, yet we want to beat each other.
鈥淚 want my teammates to be as good as they can be, but I also want to beat them.鈥
And Beaumont explained that the side do get to go to a hot weather training camp soon to escape the cold of their Caversham training base.
鈥淎 week after the trials, we head to Aviz in Portugal for our long crew boat training camp.
鈥淲e鈥檒l work really on our aerobic capacity and also on our ability to mould together as crews.鈥
