Should assisted dying be legalised?
The social policy editor of The Economist has told The Westminster Hour that she believes laws surrounding assisted dying should be changed. Emma Duncan, who's mother died recently and had in the past asked for help with ending her own life, thinks it will eventually be legalised. She said: "I think you are getting a groundswell for change on this issue which will eventually be reflected in political change." Speaking about her late mother, she told Carolyn Quinn: "She very firmly believed that it wasn't the state's business to tell people not to help her bring about the outcome that she so fervently wished for."
