A former Dorset fire chief has told ´óÏó´«Ã½ 5 live he wants an apology, after he was wrongly convicted of child abuse.

David Bryant, 67, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2014 after being accused of attacking a man in the 1970s.

His conviction was quashed in 2016 and in January 2018, a High Court judge said his accuser had made "false allegations... to seek personal attention and drama."

David’s wife Lynn died six months after he was released from prison.

Speaking to Chloe Tilley, David said he now wants an apology from Dorset Police.

Dorset Police said the investigation was "very thorough and detailed" and that it had been deemed there was "sufficient evidence" to prosecute.
