Carry On Camping Memory Tape
Jason and Chris provide a memory tape inspired by their lives on the Norfolk Coast featuring tracks from Groove Armada, Django Django and Bat For Lashes.
Today's Memory Tapers are Jason and Chris from North Norfolk. Their memory tape is inspired by their work running a backpackers hostel and campsite on the North Norfolk Coast that is also home to a number of music events.
Beyond setting up their campsite and hostel, Jason and Chris have also established a lively schedule of gigs on site. Jason told us: "We’ve established monthly gigs and two festivals, and we've hosted a wonderful selection of musicians, primarily Norfolk and East of England original artists."
But what made the pair so keen to fuse music and tourism?
Jason told us: "Music is a huge part of both our lives. Chris and I first became friends enjoying three of our favourite things - live music, real ale and curries. Chris plays drums in a band, but sadly I don’t have a musical bone in my body, so helping promote musicians is the closest I’ll get to performing. I’ve always had the dream that I’ll take up guitar, but not sure I’d want to put my wife or daughter through the experience of me learning."
