Tracey Thorn's interview in full
The singer joins us to talk about her new solo album and a desire to record "the state of things" for posterity - because she's still got lots of things to say.
Tracey believes pop music can be an arena to talk about anything, and her album includes a sad banger, a hymn to sisterhood (inspired by the Women's March in London last January) and a closing track which is designed to get listeners onto the dance floor.
She also reflects upon Kurt Cobain's love for her first band, Marine Girls; hearing her own music on the radio; and passing on the musical baton to bands like The xx.
And Tracey shares some of the music she enjoys listening to, including New Order's Ceremony, which she predicted would become an "all-time favourite" in her teenage diary.
