Reading FC: Stam explains changes in Bolton draw
Royals boss Jaap Stam says his squad has the versatility to match different scenarios.
Stam made six changes to his side as they drew with Bolton 1-1 on Tuesday evening, which included a debut for 17-year-old Tom Holmes.
"He's been training already for quite a while with the first team squad ," Stam told 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "He's been doing very well against the players we have.
"In coaching, he listens, he picks it up...he brings a certain physicality to the game."
And Stam recognised that the Madejski Stadium crowd was relatively small for the Bolton draw.
"Always in midweek games, people sometimes make the choice to stay at home.
"Everybody, of course, wants to have a bigger crowd.
"We can hopefully turn that around so the crowd comes back."
