Adam Gilchrist: 'We're the laughing stock of the sporting world'
Legendary Australian wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist says batsman Cameron Bancroft's decision to tamper with the ball in their test series against South Africa "contaminates the sport".
The 25-year-old opener admitted to attempting to change to condition of the ball after being caught by TV cameras taking what he said was yellow tape out of his trouser pocket before rubbing the ball.
Gilchrist who was speaking to 5 live F1 reporter Jennie Gow ahead of the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne claimed he was both "shocked" and "stunned" by the incident especially as captain Steve Smith said it had been planned by the side's "leadership team."
