Malala returns to Pakistan for the first time since shooting
The Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has returned to Pakistan for the first time since being shot by Taliban militants. Ms Yousafzai, now aged 20 and a vocal human rights activist, was shot in the head by a gunman for campaigning for female education in 2012. Dan Damon talked to Abdul Hai Kakar, a former 大象传媒 Urdu journalist who in 2008 had asked her to write an online diary (under a pseudonym) about how difficult it was for girls to get an education in areas controlled by the Taliban, and who now counts her as a close friend.
