大象传媒 Minute: On Park Geun-hye's corruption conviction

South Korea's former president Park Geun-hye has been jailed for 24 years following a long-running corruption scandal which led to her impeachment in March 2017. The saga provoked huge street protests, and embroiled some of South Korea's biggest companies such as Samsung.

As well as facing a lengthy prison sentence, Park Geun-hye has been fined $17 million. She wasn't in court as the verdict was announced. David Cann from the 大象传媒's Korea Service tells 大象传媒 Minute the case has been hugely divisive in the country.
