How can we reduce suicide rates?
After Jeremy Hunt's commitment to cutting suicide rates by 10% earlier this year, The Westminster Hour's Mark Lobel has been speaking to groups involved in helping prevent people taking their own lives. Madeleine Moon, the Labour MP who chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group for Suicide and Self Harm Prevention, said: "There is an absolute fear of tackling suicide, a fear that if you talk about it, that it will create a problem, that people will take their own lives. But there is actually the opposite. If people know that there is help out there, they can express the distress and the despair that they're feeling."
