What can be done to end 'age ghettos'?
In the UK, the number of people under 18 and over 65 living in the same community has more than halved in twenty five years. This separating of generations is driven by a number of factors, including the rising cost of living, the decline of inter-generational spaces and the promotion of age specific activities. It's a trend seen in other countries as well. As part of the 大象传媒 Crossing Divides series, Carrie Gracie brought together Alex Smith, founder of a group of charities called 'The Cares Family', Diane Wei Liang, novelist and former business professor who grew up in China and Anne Karpf, author of the book 'How to Age' to share experiences and discuss solutions to this growing 'age apartheid'.
