Artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan describes how he assisted the investigative team Forensic Architecture to examine the Saydnaya prison in Syria, 25km north of Damascus. According to Amnesty International the prisoners were kept in darkness and speaking out loud was punishable by death.

Lawrence created a unique method of interviewing escaped prisoners to produce "earwitness testimonies" that helped to uncover the truth.
