Froome shouldn't be competing in the Giro d'Italia - Whittle
Cycling journalist Jeremy Whittle believes Chris Froome should not be racing in this year's Giro d'Italia with the uncertainty surrounding his "adverse" drugs test at last year's Vuelta a Espana.
Froome was found to have double the allowed level of a legal asthma drug in his urine after a test in September 2017 but UCI is yet to reach a decision on the case.
Asked whether Froome should be competing, Whittle said: "Personally, I think not because the damage to the reputation of the Giro and to the image of cycling by this uncertainty hanging over him is really going to damage the race throughout."
