Mountain wine is the latest thing for Chilean merchants
Wine is arguably Chile's most famous and best regarded export. European settlers chose the warm, fertile and flat lands of the Central Valley to grow their grapes. But now wine growers are branching out to the Andes Mountains, the coast and the drier desert landscape in pursuit of new flavours for discerning drinkers. We sent our reporter Jane Chambers to investigate.
