Former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp has told 大象传媒 Radio 5 live he was 鈥渁 bit surprised鈥� the club appointed Manuel Pellegrini as their new manager.

He says he doesn鈥檛 feel the former Man City and Real Madrid manager is an exciting appointment and that the club could have gone for one of the 鈥済reat young managers in this country鈥�, including Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche and Stuart Pearce.

Redknapp believes there are managers in the Championship that could do the job but 鈥渁ren鈥檛 given the opportunities鈥�.
