Are there hidden health benefits to fasting?
Many people fast for religious reasons. For others, restricted calorie intake is just about losing weight. However, some people believe that our bodies evolved of thousands of years to live with periods with little to eat and that recreating this can do wonders for us.
Dr Francoise Wilhelmi de Toledo from the Buchinger Wilhelmi Institute explains why she thinks controlled fasting - with medical supervision - can be beneficial.
