James Taylor hid hospital admission
Former England and Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor says he hid news of his hospital admission for a serious heart condition 鈥榝rom everybody鈥 for more than a week.
鈥淢ost people didn鈥檛 know that I was in hospital a week before the news was broke. I hid it from everybody. Only my closest friends and family knew.
鈥淚 physically couldn鈥檛 really walk in that first week after the events that I went through on the original day when I became ill,鈥 he told 5 live鈥檚 Nihal Arthanayake.
In 2016, Taylor, then aged 26, was forced to retire immediately from his professional cricket career after being diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC), similar to the condition which affected footballer Fabrice Muamba.
