The former Wall Street worker collecting leftover food for the homeless
Every year, millions of people go hungry while leftover food goes to waste. Robert Lee grew up watching his parents skip meals to provide food for their children. So in 2013 he quit his job on Wall Street to start a non-profit organisation that convinces food businesses to donate leftovers to homeless shelters. He does this by highlighting how businesses gain – in tax cuts and free advertising – all while volunteers collect and redistribute 'leftover cuisine', no matter how big or small.
