DRC ex-Vice President Bemba acquitted of war crimes

Former Vice President Bemba's conviction on war crimes charges was overturned last week.

Mr Bemba had been given an 18-year sentence in 2016. But judges ruled that he could not be held criminally responsible for crimes committed by his troops in the Central African Republic; Medicins Sans Frontiers NGO helps transfer hundreds of Africans migrants adrift on the Aquarius rescue ship to Italian Naval ships bound for Spain after Italy refused them entry; Evidence of villages burnt, people tortured and killed in Cameroon by Government forces and Ambazonia separatists in Anglophone regions.
