A collaborative Memory Tape, by Steve and his son Felix

Steve and his son Felix share their Memory Tape

Today’s Memory Tapers are Steve Bishop and his son Felix from the North Devon Coast.

A few weeks ago, Felix got in touch with the show to get his Dad a shout out. Felix was revising for his Physics degree finals, and decided to get in touch as his Dad and him are HUGE fans of the show and are always listening. We encouraged Steve to get in touch with the show – which he did. Together, they've compiled a Memory Tape that includes records they’ve enjoyed both together, and separately over the years.

FEATURED TRACKS
• Johnny Cash – Boy Named Sue
• Rodrigo y Gabriela – FOC
• Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy! Hey Girl!
• General Levy – Incredible
• Four Tet – Two Thousand and Seventeen

The Johnny Cash record is a family favourite that used to be a regular in the car when the boys were younger.

Rodrigo y Gabriela and The Chemical Brothers were both headliners at the first festival that Steve attended with his sons back in 2011. Felix disappeared during The Chemical Brothers’ set – only to return from the front, covered in glow sticks.

Four Tet is a reminder of the world music that Steve really loves – and General Levy's track has inspired a long-running in-joke between the two.
