Dustin, Justin and Poults shine at Shinnecock
Ryder Cup player Oli Wilson explains why Ian Poulter and Justin Rose can win the US Open.
Just four players are under par after a brutal opening round at the US Open from Shinnecock Hills. There were 200 double bogeys or worse on day one, compared to 212 for the entire tournament in 2017. Among the survivors are world number one Dustin Johnson, who shares the lead with Ian Poulter and a couple of others at one under par. Justin Rose is right in contention just two shots back. In the first of four Cutlets – mini versions of The Cut - former Ryder Cup player Oli Wilson explains why Rose and Poulter have the mental and technical ability to challenge on such a demanding course.
