Kate and Stuart are part of a large friendship group, who met when their children started at the same school. In September 2018 their lives changed forever. Kate's husband Dom was meeting Stuart and their friend Dave for one of their regular bike rides. While they waited for Dave and midst conversation Stuart turned to look up the road. When he turned back Dom was on the floor. He soon realised it was serious. Kate who was walking to the village shop came over and assisted a passing doctor in performing CPR. An ambulance was called, the village defibrillator was brought and shortly the air ambulance arrived. Kate went with Dom to hospital where he was declared dead. He had had a heart attack from undiagnosed coronary disease - very unexpected as he was a fit man, who cycled frequently and coached the kids rugby team.
Six months after his death Kate and Stuart came to the 大象传媒 to record their Listening Project conversation. During it they discussed that day, and its impact on all of them. In this extract they discuss the aftermath and how Kate feels the need to understand how other people have been affected by losing Dom.
