How do families cope when their child has cancer?
When children are diagnosed with cancer, it can have a huge emotional, physical and financial impact on the whole family
Speaking to Radio 5 Live, Lara Joyce described the first few months after her eight-month-old daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumour as going by in "a bit of a blur."
"You've got to be focused on being strong for your child, paying attention to what the consultant says and being able to understand what's going on."
The Joyce family were offered help from Louise Dolphin, a specialist social worker from the charity CLIC Sargent.
After eight years of Amber undergoing various cancer treatments, Lara now describes Louise as being "like family" and says she has "been my sanity for several years now."
