FIFA ‘out of time’ to strip World Cup from Qatar: Ex-FA Chief
The FA’s Former Chief Executive Mark Palios tells 5 Live Sportsweek he doesn’t expect Qatar to be stripped of the 2022 World Cup. He believes there isn’t enough time to ‘practically’ make contingency plans, and that FIFA are ‘out of time’. Leaked documents suggest Qatar carried out ‘black ops’, using a PR firm and ex-CIA agents to discredit their rivals, in breach of FIFA regulations. Palios says that, if true, sanctions should be imposed on the Middle Eastern country, and could include ‘banning Qatar from football post 2022’.
