Courtois left Chelsea to be with his family
Thibaut Courtois' agent has confirmed the Belgium goalkeeper moved to Real Madrid from Chelsea 'because of his family'. Courtois' two children live in Madrid and he relocated to Spain to be reunited with them. Agent Christophe Henrotay revealed there were emotional scenes when Courtois arrived in Madrid, saying it was a 'family getting back together, everybody I can see has tears in their eyes.'
Henrotay added 'if Courtois' family was in London, it would have been totally different....there is no reason to leave such a great club like Chelsea.' He also confirmed he didn't take more than a standard 5 per cent fee from the deal
