The winner of the 大象传媒 New Comedy Award 2018, Stephen Buchanan, says the refugee his "amazing" mum took in inspired his work.

Speaking to 大象传媒 Radio 5 Live at the Edinburgh Festival, he said "it's amazing just to speak to him and see what his experiences have been."

He told Nihal Arthanayake: "None of the jokes are actually about him. I use my observations around living with him."
