Aquanauts: What are the challenges of living underwater?
The Aquarius Reef Base is an underwater habitat which was built for oceanographic research and is one of the world’s only undersea laboratories. It lies five miles off the Florida Keys in the USA. Roger Garcia is a former military diver who is in charge of running operations on the Aquarius and keeping the aquanauts who stay there safe. Roger discusses the most common physiological changes that face the aquanauts as they live and work for days on end fifty feet under the sea.
