Transplant patient asks donor鈥檚 dad to walk her down the aisle
Lisa Simkin, from Nottingham, underwent a life-saving lung transplant in 2013. Her donor was 33-year-old Rhona, who had died of a brain haemorrhage days after giving birth to her second child.
Six months after the transplant, Lisa wrote a letter to Rhona鈥檚 family 鈥渢o say thank you鈥.
She says the family 鈥渙pened their door with loving arms鈥 and she now feels part of their family.
Rhona鈥檚 dad John even walked Lisa down the aisle at her wedding.
Lisa told Radio 5 Live she feels like she鈥檚 known them all her life: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a very surreal feeling.鈥
