Strange Letters: Episode 3 - 'I wish I could have somehow taken his place' - 6th Oct 1918
Ruth Strange was 23 when one of her brothers went missing in action.
Pilot Ben Strange disappeared, having gone on a morning patrol, on 24th September 1918. His body has never been found.
Recently, descendants of Ruth Strange have found letters she wrote to her parents, at the time he went missing.
Ruth's words have been voiced by her grand-daughter Rachel Wheeler, and introduced by Ruth's grandson, Jonathan Wheeler.
This letter was written by Ruth on October 6th 1918.
