Strange Letters: Episode 4 - 'Mother we mustn't give up hope ' - 9th Oct 1918
Two weeks after her brother went missing Ruth writes again to her mother.
Ruth Strange was 23, and working as a nurse in a French Hospital.
Pilot Ben Strange disappeared on 24th September 1918, having gone on a morning patrol. He's listed as 'missing in action'.
Recently, descendants of Ruth Strange have found letters she wrote to her parents, at the time.
Ruth's words have been voiced by her grand-daughter Rachel Wheeler, and introduced by Ruth's grandson, Jonathan Wheeler.
This letter was written by Ruth on 9th October 1918.
