Peter Hook on revisiting Joy Divisions back catalogue
Hooky chats about playing the Royal Albert Hall with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra
Legendary bass player Peter Hook has announced that he is going to revisit Joy Divisions back catalogue with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra for a very special date at London's Royal Albert Hall, Friday 5th July 2019
He's obviously a bit of a pro at this as he's successfully toured the Hacienda Classical and again acts as Executive Producer for the project alongside Musical Director Tim Crooks. The concert will be the first time that an original member of the group has participated in such a project and the duo are presently arranging the band's back catalogue for the concert.
Last year Peter reached an undisclosed settlement with New Order bringing to an end a long legal feud over Hooky's use of various New Order and Joy Division songs with his band the Light, with Peter then suing New Order in 2015 claiming he was losing millions of pounds in royalties after a restructuring of the band's finances following his departure.
With that all behind him and a new Joy Division project in the works, 6 Music Breakfast's Clare Crane spoke to Peter to find out more
