At home with Val Doonican
We all know him the deep-voiced Irish pop star who gave us Walk Tall, What Would I Be, and If The Whole World Stopped Lovin'.
Val Doonican was a star of the stage for many decades, but according to his family Val Doonican was the "least showbiz person you could ever meet", and just happened to be paid to play the music he loved
His daughter Fiona is now organising an exhibition to give fans a glimpse of his life behind the scenes.
Fiona Doonican:
"He used to do something they called summer season, so they'd go to Scarborough or Folkestone or Margate... as soon as school finished off we'd all go to the seaside.
"We had amazing things where we could spend time behind the scenes, and meet other people who were on the bill with Dad.
"Dad was more comfortable with his golfing friends...he absolutely loved being away from the limelight."
