Sunday 14th October
It's the National Apple Festival at Brogdale - This Weekend

Celebrate over 2200 different apple varieties at Brogdale with a breath-taking apple display of hundreds of varieties. Learn about apples from all over the world plus different types of apple from cider apples to cooking or dessert apples. See apples of every shape, size, colour and flavour like you've never seen before.

Meet the fruit experts and get your apple identified with the FREE Fruit ID. Join the scientists from FAST, visit the climate change trails and discover all the research happening here at Brogdale. Learn more with rural talks, demonstrations plus a programme of cooking shows all weekend.

There's a Cactus Fair in Edenbridge today organised the Herne Bay Cactus Club at the Crockham Hill Village Hall Church Lane
It's open to the public from 10am till 3pm Admission is 拢2 Adults Children Free.
Lots of Cacti and succulents on offer at very reasonable prices from some of the top UK growers. A great family day to learn about these fascinating plants.

Hole Park on Benenden Road in Rolvenden are open again this Sunday - go along and enjoy their spectacular autumn colour and exotic borders, including the late flowering agapanthus 'Hole Park Blue'. It's open between 11 and 6 every Sunday throughout October.

Monday 15th October
Hadlow Gardeners Club have a talk by Maureen Rainey called a tour of the wildlife friendly gardens of Kent - they meet at 8pm in The Old School Hall in Hadlow. Visitors are 拢2 entry.

Tuesday 16th October
Ashford Flower Club have a Floral Art Demonstration by Jean Plaskett called 'Solo Plastic' at 7.30 pm at Furley Hall, Maidstone Road, Ashford.
Visitors welcome - tickets 拢4.00

HERNE HORTICULTURAL & ROSE SOCIETY have a magic lantern show with a gardening theme show brought up to date with the wonder of electronics. Slides with music and commentary by Jeff & Sylvia Wagner - it all happens in The Herne Institute on Canterbury Road at 7pm.

Wednesday 17th October
Wateringbury Flower Club are lucky to have Tricia Bashford coming to share her flower
arranging when she gives a demonstration titled 'Let's Party' on Wednesday, 17th of October.
They meet at The Institute Hall, East Malling
Doors open at 6.30pm with the demonstration starting at 8pm. There will be various stalls including plants, silver jewellery, cushions and textile gifts. Also a raffle for the flower arrangements and a charity raffle for a hamper.

Minster and Monkton Horticultural Society hold their AGM at 7.30 in the Village Hall at Minster in Thanet.
Tyler Hill Gardening Society have a talk on Succulents by Fiona Wemyss of Blueleaf Nursery. It all starts at 7.30 at Tyler Hill Memorial Hall.

Faversham Horticultural Society welcome Mike Austen for a talk on Strange Stories of the Apple - they meet at the Age UK Centre in Middle Row, Faversham

Charing Gardeners Society have a talk at 7.30pm in Church Barn, Charing, Nr Ashford.
Jo Arnell of Hornbrook Manor Farm, "Vegetable growing through the seasons.
Making raised beds, preparing for next year and what crops to grow in them successfully."
Jo is a garden designer and runs regular workshops and courses at her home, Hornbrook Manor Farm, Woodchurch.

Thursday 18th October
There's a talk by Sue Marshall from Iris of Sissinghurst about The English Love Affair With The Iris - it starts at 8pm in the New Hall, Groombridge.

Istead Rise Gardeners Club meet at The Memorial Hall, Lewis Road, Istead Rise from
7.00pm for a 7.30 start. Cost to visitors and hopefully potential new members is 拢4 - there's an Inter horticultural society and garden club quiz

Friday 19th October
Bidborough Gardening Association meet at 8pm in Bidborough Village Hall for a Talk by Laurie Manser called `A Gardener`s Childhood Memories` - Visitors welcome.

Chalk Village Gardeners Club have a talk from 2.30 in the afternoon on The work of the Dogs Trust - Meetings are held in Chalk Parish Hall. Visitors are welcome 拢2.50 including free refreshments.

Sunday 21st October
The South East Orchid Society holds their Orchid Autumn Show.
This is an 'Open Show' which means that any orchid enthusiast is welcome to bring along an orchid for display (as long as they have owned it for 9months) and compete to win a trophy.
Laurence Hobbs Orchids will have a trade stand where beautiful orchids can be purchased.
Try your luck on our Tombola. Refreshments are available at the show and there is parking space outside.
The Show will be open to the public from 1pm to 4pm.
At 3:30pm the winners of the Autumn Show Trophies will be announced.
It will take place at :- Ashford Rail Staff Club, Beaver Road, Ashford
