Amoeba warning to contact lens wearers
Acanthamoeba Keratitis is a rare but devastating eye condition caused by an amoeba. It can affect eyesight and even lead to blindness. It is a waterborne pathogen and contact lens wearers are particularly at risk. But as Professor John Dart, consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital in the UK, explains - there are several things you can do to prevent an infection.
