Lyrics:
From a world of broken mirrors
all of us have come
the pieces are familiar
the picture is unknown
after war has come and gone
ink has dried and winds have blown
spirits hum of names and rumors
softly through the air
they pick the dark and dazzling flowers
we are bound to bear
garlands for our missing friends
to lay in city squares
at the heart of longing is
an afternoon of sunny peace
mothers, kiss your children please
their love is just on loan
all of us are still out looking
for our trail of crumbs
some holy words to resonate
a choir for our songs
not just to be survivors
but to know where we belong
at the heart of longing is
an afternoon of sunny peace
mothers, kiss your children please
their love is just on loan
all is counted, all is noted
we pass the numbers on
still so many unsolved riddles
hidden in our bones
what's the weight of all that鈥檚 gone
when ink has dried and winds have blown
at the heart of longing is
an afternoon of sunny peace
mothers, kiss your children please
their love is just on loan
