Lyrics:
Wake me up, nana,
before the sun shines
to see my love
and ease this ache of mine.
He鈥檚 off to war,
may the luck be with him,
wreath of immortelle
I will give him.
He promised me, nana,
he鈥檒l be back by fall,
oh lucky me,hey, to wed me.
And in faraway highlands
a battle sweeps,
in the green forest
is where he sleeps.
Four years have passed
since he鈥檚 been gone,
I鈥檓 drowning in sorrow,
ay, I鈥檓 still alone.
Lads returned to their ladies,
rocking babies in cradles,
and I鈥檓 all alone.
