Why women are having fewer children
New research has shown a steep decline in the number of children women are having across the world. Researchers at the University of Washington say nearly half of countries are now producing fewer children than needed to maintain their population.
Sarah Harper, professor of Gerontology at the University of Oxford and founding director of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, says that there are a number of reasons for the change.
